1.25" Gouge Auger Description
Designed for sampling wet clay and peat!The AMS gouge auger has a long, tapered stainless steel, semi-cylindrical chamber that is designed for collection of undisturbed soil samples from very soft and preferably very wet soils with minimal disturbance of soft cohesive layers. The gouge soil auger is pushed into the soil, twisted and recovered to display a full and virtually undisturbed soil profile of peaty soil. The Gouge Auger requires attachment to cross handles or slide hammer for use.
